Pet Peeve Speech

Is there something you find irritating – a pet peeve?  Are you bothered by smokers (or nonsmokers), barking dogs, dorm food, noisy neighbors, or an annoying sibling?  Whatever it is, this is your opportunity to “sound off.”

Structure:  Open your speech with impact, making us sit up and take notice of your pet peeve.  In the body of your speech, develop some reasons why this pet peeve bothers you – cite specific examples.  Then, close with impact.  Make us share your frustration.

Advisory:  Be careful not to use this speech to tear down specific people or groups different than your own.

Parameters:  The speech should be about 3 minutes in length.  No outline is required and you can use one 3x5 note card.
